ZF 5-speed master and slave cylinder
I'm looking at replacing the clutch master and slave cylinders on my 1988 F250 with the ZF S5-42 (bulldog 5-speed) Back as a tech at the Ford dealer I remember installing master/slave kits on the newer (99+ style) F250s, where the master and slave came together with the tube between them and filled with fluid, no bleeding required. Just put them on and go. Ive looked all over the internet for something like this for the older ones with no luck. The parts on mine look identical (all plastic with a plastic tube) Has anyone seen or installed these on an older truck? Thanks.

The problem is that when the slave is installed in the truck, the bleeder is not at the highest point, and some don't even have bleeders. The way I solve this is to park the truck facing uphill as steeply as possible (at my house I can make it quite steep). Then pump the hell out of the pedal, let it sit for an hour, and repeat this 4-5 times during the course of the day. This will get you enough pedal to drive it and the rest of the air will work it's way out by driving it every day for a week or so.
I know this sounds very passive and so I hated it when it was described to me, but so far it has worked for me every time.
