Hello all. Thanks for looking at my post. Here is what I am wanting to do. I have a 74 F100 with 302 auto. I am wanting to make this into my camper puller and was wanting to put in an AOD and possible a EFI engine. My dad has a 93 econoline with a 5.0 that a tree fell on several years ago and hasn't done anything with. Now the city is after him to get rid of it so I can buy it for scrap prices. If it has the aod, I would like to buy it and put motor and tranny in 74.

I have been doing alot of reading on here and have seen alot about you need this computer and this MAF and so on and so forth.

Can't I just put in the motor trans and wiring ecu gas tank if its rear mount etc? Do I really need all this other stuff or is that just performance related?

I bought the truck for $200 and have driven it for several years now, just wanting something more friendly for highway driving and pulling. It is in rough shape so any mods I do will not detract from the value of the truck.

Haven't found any full write ups on a swap like this yet so links would be good if you have them.

If you google something like ' 5 litre efi into 74 f100 ' you should get some FTE threads show up I know it's been done but I don't recall the threads.

 

Since you will be using the computer and wiring it wouldn't matter if it was an aod or a e4od trans.
