Up pipe interchange?

Hey all, does anyone know of the passenger side up pipe from an 03 6.0 will fit an 05? I have an up pipe leaking I believe as I am getting exhaust smell in the cab when sitting still. I have an extra up pipe from an 03 on hand. I also remember reading a thread where someone upgraded the flex joint on the up pipes but am having trouble locating it. I would like to do the upgrade before installing the up pipe to Save downtime in the future.

If you need one for an 05, I have an extra. just let me know. just cover shipping. If you get a chance, do a search on the early run of those up pipes. Some did not have the scoop in them. That's why I switched mine out when I did all the updates.

Early style matches the round cooler. Can't use the early style up-pipe with the rectangle cooler.

I knew the round cooler cooler came with the early truck I didn't know if the pipe was different or not. Thanks for the link Josh. Now to track down and source the flex joints.

I had a leak in the flex joint on my y pipe. I sent mine off to Maryland performance diesel and they put in the heavy duty bellow flex joints. Then i did an egr delete kit with new up pipe while I was in there. If you don't have time for the truck to be down they will send you a set of y pipes you just pay a core charge till you send yours in.

Paul what was the approx. cost if you don't mind me asking? The bellows are about $80 for both and I would do all the labor including welding myself so new bolts would be my only additional cost.

Be sure to build a jig or you'll screw yourself...

As a side point, I charge $60 to weld in new flex joints.

Bullitt that's not a bad price at all. But I really can't be down for any length of time. Once I get everything it will be a tear down fri afternoon probably 2-3 hours to build tweak and make sure the jig is satisfactory. Then cut weld and get it back together before Sunday night. I have to get kids to school in the am and work right after. Plus I like to do things on my own. The only thing better would be to have a new turbo back exhaust tonight in at the same time.

If you can do it yourself that would work great. I did t have access to a tig welder or a jig. It was $350 for the new set. MPD 6.0 Heavy Duty Up-Pipes
Just make sure you use the jig like Bullitt has above.
Bullitt I will have to remember you if I ever need any welded in again.

Here is a set I welded up yesterday, ready for shipment tomorrow.

I'll have a core set arriving tomorrow.
