Rats under hood

I have a 2006 F-250 Super Duty 4X4 with 5.4 3V Triton engine. I had some rats build a nest in my engine compartment. The engine ran rough after cleaning the nest out and I found a vacuum line ate in two. I replaced the line and now I get a check gauges message and my coolant gauge never moves. I found a short piece of plastic wiring loom in their nest and think that they ate the wire into going to the water sensor.
My problem is I can't locate the water sensor or a loose wire anywhere. If I had the location, it would give me an idea where the wire would be routed.
Thanks

This picture in this FTE post should be the same location as this modular V-10 location.

Looks totally different and I don't see any sensors in that area. Ford states that it is a sensor in metal and not the water jacket.

P1289 Ford Description
The Cylinder Head Temperature (CHT) Sensor is mounted into the wall of the cylinder head and is not connected to any coolant passages. The CHT sends a signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) indicating the cylinder head temperature. If the temperature exceeds 126°C (-258°F), the PCM disables four fuel injectors at a time. The PCM will alternate which four injectors are disabled every 32 engine cycles. The four cylinders that are not being fuel injected act as air pumps to aid in cooling the engine. If the temperature exceeds 154 °C (310°F), the PCM disables all of the fuel injectors until the engine temperature drops below 154°C (310°F).

Does this mean that I will have to pull the intake to get to it?

Still waiting for any help. I hate to start taking the engine apart before knowing.

Go here http://m.autozone.com/autozone-mobil...=Temp%20sensor

That is what it is showing for your truck but it does not give a location

You may have to blow it up, but this should help.
