Hello all, quick question my 4x4 hubs are frozen, I have decided to go after market... My question is I have electronic shift on dash, and "lock/auto" hubs. If I buy the "free/lock" hubs wills they work?

No they will not. You will have to get out of the truck and manually lock the hubs to engage 4wd.

Going with the manual hubs will allow you 2wd low

 

OE replacement hubs are the only hubs I know of that will retain the ESOF 4wd working as your does now.

Warn, Mile Marker and Yukon make aftermarket manual hubs. The Yukons are supposed to be the strongest. As said if you go with any of these manual hubs you will have to get out and lock/unlock the hubs manually. Also you will have to plug the vacuum lines and hub fitting going to each hub to prevent contamination.

 

Some folks believe that manual hubs are superior to the Electronic Shift on the Fly (ESOF) system that Ford provided. One less thing to go wrong. The ESOF is vacuum actuated, and can be defeated by a vacuum leak elsewhere on the truck.
