Are you north or south? I'm in Locust Grove and may be able to help.

Just had mine done in KY. $1052.00. The Part is about $500 - Easy to do but we were on the road and broke down.

Sorry guys, I didn't abandon the thread. We had to go out of town for a funeral. Looking at having Jason look at it.

That is absolutely criminal!!! The part is $150 at THE MOST from NAPA, Autozone, etc! It takes ABOUT 10 MINUTES TO CHANGE IT!!!

That just absolutely STEAMS me!!! You should call them and raise hell.

Nah, hopefully they drive it back there and explain how some redneck from the mountains came down and fixed it in the driveway - for free.

Thanks for the reps. I'm taking stuff to measure fuel pressure, rebuild fuel bowl, change fuel pump (I have a new pump in the toolbox) and AE. If we need to drop the tank, I may have to try and do it on my way back up next week so I can start in the AM.

Daisy and I will be there early afternoon tomorow and I'll let ya know what we find. Some of you are on speed-dial anyway! Y'all can let them know we are not as scary as we look!! And try to explain why I told her I wouldn't charge them for my time...

That's easy. Most all of us here at FTE, including Jason, "pay it forward", or as I once said, "paying my insurance policy that someone would be there for me if I needed it".

It's all good, and a return to an earlier ethic where neighbors "helped out".

Ok, plenty of fuel pressure and volume so no issues with pump or tank. The old filter looked half eaten by an animal - she wasnt kidding when she said it was bad!!

We did a Buzz Test cold and #6 was muted and gave us high to low side open. Truck had dead miss consistent with injector not working, but eventually smoothed out. All 8 buzzed good when warm (running good).

Rotational Velocity was ~4.0% on #3 & #8 and we got Cylinder Contribution codes for those cylinders...

Thanks so much for posting this. I was just sitting here trying to decide how to describe it all correctly.

Dumb phone...

Its running pretty good now. A couple GP codes, a small coolant leak and some likely boost leaks - but nothing urgent.

They have a WEIRD transmission issue though!! Mandy, you should start a thread about that.

Speaking of which, Mrs Vegan is quite educated. She has clearly done alot of reading and knows more about her X than most people I know. Its easy to want to help someone so eager to learn and understand these unique engines!!

I will write up a trans post and link it here in a bit. Thank you for not acting like I am a dumb girl about my truck LOL. Some people think it's odd that I actually am very interested in how it all works.
