FICM Sync

I have a 2006 F250 4x4 with 100k. I had Ed repair my FICM but I still Have a long crank when cold. My question is how long should it take for the FICM to sync. it takes at least 5 or more seconds before it shows on my scan gauge that it is in sync. Thanks for any info.

How are you batteries doing for voltage?
You may also want to verify that the plugs are locked in place on the FICM.

After that Some of the other people will give some input of other things to look at.

I find with my truck that cold start after I turn the key to start is about 5 sec.
I have not watched the sync data.

What about CAM and Crank Sync? Have you programmed SYC? You have to have Cam and Crank Sync BEFORE you get FICM Sync. (FSN)

I don't think the LOOOOONG Crank is going to be a Sync issue

Check the HPO system over good

Probably a Standpipe or Dummey plug Bleeding Off as it sits

What Happens if you start it then Turn it Off then Start again Immediately ??

Ok so it took 7 seconds to start. I turned it of and restarted and it started right up. If this is normal that's fine. But I have heard other 6.0s start cold and it didn't take that long. Or at least it didn't seem that long. When it is worm it only takes 1 or 2 seconds.

Watch your rpms on the long cranks
Also watch ICP (pressure and volts)

Kinda what I thought Its should start as Fast as it Did the Second time "ALL THE TIME"

Its alittle on the Long side Mine starts within about 2 seconds

7 Seconds would seam like an Eternity to me

Last time my truck took longer then the normal 2 second it was Broken

I think whats happening is the HPO Rail is Bleeding off when the truck sits and cools off

2006 has the Wavey rail and is known for D-Plug and stand pipe issues as well as some the Nipples Orings are starting to show signs of going Bad as well

One thing are you letting the Glow Plug Light go out before you crank right?? if so Refer to the Above 2 Posts^^

Yes I wait for the glow plug light to go out. I haven't watched the rpm but my ICP pressure only gets to about 250 before it starts. IPR is 45%
