From reading some of the posts on here it seems this is an air bag warning. 5 chimes five times in a row. The fuze is fine and there are no warning lights on the dash. Any trouble shooting suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

 

The lack of warning lights is why you're getting the chimes. You need to pull your cluster and replace the bulb for the air bag light.

 

Thanks for the reply! How tough of a job is pulling the cluster?

 

Not very hard:

-Pull the radio out, disconnect, set aside

-set the parking brake and chock the wheels

-tilt the steering all the way down

-put the truck into first gear (if it's an automatic)

-You may also have 2 bolts to remove either above or below the radio, but other than that, you should be able to carefully pull it forward. Just make sure you disconnect the connectors for your cigarette lighter or whatever switches are attached to the dash.

I started driving this truck again but have not pulled the dash to replace the light. Now my shifter is one place off and the key is going in and out with some extra effort. Could the key swich be responsible for the shifter being a little off or maybe even the chimes? When I tried to start the truck it just clicked and did not turn over a couple times before starting.
