1969 f500 & 21 questions..
Hello all...
Recently I purchased a 69 F500 and with it many questions...that I think I am in the place.
The first is life or death of course..Do I have widow makers? Not sure how to upload photos but Id really like some opinions on this.
Second I'd like to decode the and VIN see if I can learn anything...like the winning lottery numbers?
VIN F50CCE90700
Lastly I have discovered under the master cylinder on the firewall a plastic piece and after poking my finger inside I realized this was some sort of diaphragm. After looking around I found a hose on the manifold with the broken nipple that was once a part of this mysterious piece. I fashioned a make shift connecter to attach the two thinking this might be the vacuum assist for the brakes...and what do ya know... It turns out that standing on the brakes is now a neighborhood attraction instead of a slow prayer filled rolling stop...
Can anyone tell me what this piece is called and where I might be able to find one?

F50 = F500.
C = 330 2V Medium Duty FT engine.
C = Oakville Ontario Canada Truck Assembly Plant.
E90,700 = 1969.
Two different types of P/B boosters were used on these trucks. One is firewall (dash) mounted, master cylinder bolts to it.
Other type known as a Hydro-Vac, it's a remote mounted booster located on the left frame rail. Only the master cylinder is located on the firewall.
I asked a moderator to move your thread to the Large Truck forum, as you'll get more help there than here, as this forum is more 'pickup' orientated.
Is this the type of brake system your F500 has? If so, the part that the vacuum hose connects to on the booster (2005) is the P/B booster check valve (2B013).
