I have a 1999 f150 4wd sport and I was wondering what the spec is for ball joint play. The lowers both have a very small amount of movement but based on the design I really don't have to worry about a seperation issue unless I get airborne. However, the truck needs a safety inspection for insurance and I would like to have actual values for clearance before they wiggle it and tell me they're shot. I know some dodge's are allowed .080" play. If anyone has access to a spec sheet or knows where I can find one it would be a huge help. Especially seeing as my local dealership informed me they only keep manuals 10 years back, and seemed upset when I asked them how they can expect to properly perform any service work without a proper manual. Needless to say I won't be going to them for anything anytime soon. Thanks in advance
