Time for ball joint..........
I noticed the passenger side upper ball joint has play in it. I have not done ball joints previously and need to know how to do the repair. Any step-by-step help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Buy a Haynes manual for starters. Then see if you are up to the task along with the necessary tools.

You could try the big books at the library. They go into a little more detail. If you can afford it you should have it done at a shop you can trust. If you have the time, tools, a place to do it and good info, go for it.
