TPS or IVS? That is THE question!

I'm really trying to understand this issue. I have a buck when driving down the road which is likely injector o-rings and not this, but who knows. The only thing that seems to make sense with the IVS mounted on the dash is that there is a break in the wiring somewhere that is changed when you re-orient the switch. Could there be some way in which the switch is grounding when attached to the pedal? Wouldn't that keep the signal at "0" volts and so it wouldn't release? I realize my thinking may be completely off so don't hammer me too bad if it is. lol
Hey Bill, it is definitely closing when mounted on the pedal. I did double check the tab to make sure it was correct and it seems to be. I still believe it to be IVS related, but the new switch is on there and working perfect for now, so I'll go with it and hopefully won't have to mess with it.

I hear you. I don't think it would deter anyone. Just tell them it's anti-theft without the extremely annoying blaring alarm. I wouldn't care but I also know what I would be looking at.

No, I remounted under the dash and am doing that for now until I can dig into the pigtails. I am thinking that is where the problem lies because when I remounted the new IVS, it didn't work, but a repositioning of the pigtail and it has been working great. Oh! I did forget to tell you that I did a continuity test on the old IVS and it was DEAD. So the new one definitely helped!
