Help! Transmission Died P0751 & P2700 Coast Clutch Solenoid Code
#46
My current theory is that It was a combination of the following:
~Long overdue flush(Poor Maint. on my part... Damn thermostat/hot flush stigma)
~Flush and new fluid stirring up some long sedated gunk in the cooler lines or pump stator.
~Lack of full filtration (WTF is the point of an external filter if it's filtration is almost negligible?)
~Switching fluid after 300K miles

Just checking. Did you mean to type Mercon V or Mercon LV? I'm wondering because Ford originally said to use only SP. They now recommend LV with SP being permissible. I thought V was a no go according to Ford.

Creator,
What's the word on the dead trans?
I bring this thread up because I got a lovely P0751 today.
So If I do a pressure test and meet the min pressures.
Just replace that one solenoid?
The truck knows I have some money. Or should I say now HAD some.
I have not pulled the pan but did check the dip stick and it was
at the 1/2 way point, no smell, bright and clean color.

Oops, I thought I had responded to this already. You probably already figured it out.
Yeah, check your pressure and see where you're at. If you get no pressure at all, you may be in the same boat that I was. The torque converter stripped the locking flange where it mated with the transmission shaft. I'm assuming it was from a locked up pump, but it could be a torque converter issue also.
If you are getting some pressure then, yeah you will want to replace the line control pressure solenoid, not the coast clutch solenoid. I think it is PC-A, it's been a while.
Let me know if you have fixed it already or not.
