Add a gas tank

Hi truckers. I want to add the front gas tank om my f250 -82 because someone decided to remove it once. I have today fixed the selector valve (broken fuse!) so now i know that it works. Since I live in Sweden, the shipping cost for a new tank from the states will cost a fortune... But I have found a tank from a f150 -89 here in Sweden! But will this tank fit? If not, can I make it fit? Will the sensor unit work and so on? If not, do anyone have a suggestion that to do?
Thanks, Olle.

Olle - I don't know if any of us can say whether it will fit, but I do know the senders are different - in two ways. By 89 most of the trucks were fuel injected so Ford changed the tanks so that they could get a sender/pump combo in the tanks. IOW, the opening on the tank is much bigger than on the 82's tank. And, some place along the way they changed the gauges so the later senders won't work with your gauge. Bill/85Lebaront2 is the guy to ask about the senders and gauges.
