Question for anyone who might have an answer. I have my 48' 337 stripped down and am working on removing the valves. The exhaust valves came out easy I compressed the spring and the keepers fell right out. The Intake valves on the other hand are different. When I compress the spring there is a bell shaped piece where the keepers are on the exhaust. It looks like the bell shaped piece should pop up and the keepers fall out from inside/under it but I've had no such luck. Thanks to anyone who may be able to help!

No they don't I found that drawling and compared. My exhaust valves look like that (the top one/non hydraulic), but my intake valves have the belled shape piece below part# 6516. This part rests against the bell shape piece when the valves are not compressed.

 

Are the intakes like the 239, '51-on? The "cup" on those is a rotator. You might PM "denverslim" on here, or Dale Fairfax. Both have built up 337's.
