they say your just supposed to use regular ol' copper plugs for these motors.

 

Do you have sources to back that statement?

 

The reason why they say copper plugs is because they are cheap and proven parts.
These trucks unless modified and re-tuned, do not see much, if any, gain when using something otherhan copper plugs. I use the cheap Bosch platinum plugs in my 460 trucks because the engine gets so hot that non stainless steel plugs rust and stick within a year.

 

Got this truck up and running real good! lots of low end grunt. Little lean though, hope to fix with adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

 

What all did you do to the motor?

 

adjustable fuel pressure regulator will cause issues unless you running a mass air efi system and can tune the computer.
