Need cam help

Has anyone camed their truck or know someone that hase. I had my cam reground and added a little duration and lift. Had a lifter plate break within first 50 miles and dont know if it is counsadental or cam related. Also valves are just barley touching ( didnt bend anything or scar pistons)

I really need to get this truck back on the road and am looking for suggestions on valve springs to use and what not maybe a thicker head gasket

Who was the person that did the cam work? I would bring it back and tell them whats going on they should fix it don,t you think

I have read a few of your posts about your cam problem and know where you are coming from I honestly never heard of a 7.3 cam upgrade or anyone who has played with there cam I,m sure there is an upgrade somewhere out there.

what did the bottom of the lifters look like when you took it apart? I bought an engine one time with supposedly a new cam it kept eating one lifter on the bottom found out that someone had dropped the cam on the floor or who knows what when I pulled it one cam lobe was bent ?

wish I could help some more know where you are at

Walter

Lanadi did the came. They have never done one but there specs match very closley to the few that bullet cams have done.

I dont think its so much a cam issue as it is getting everything else right. It will be awesome to say i have a custom cam once its right but since so few people have done them its trial and error and i dont have the money to be pulling my motor out ever couple weeks :/

These guy offer custom cams, heads and springs. Maybe give them a call and see what they think. Just a thought.

i think you are openign a can of worms with this one. the added lift of the cam will need new valve springs, the stiffer springs will put excess strain on the rockers and pushrods resulting in bent or broken rods and rockers. i dont know of upgraded parts. not my expertise

Gonna go ahaid and ditch the cam and go back to stock :/ After hours on the phone with diffeent people trying to find how to make it work I found out that the added lift adds too much valve overlap and yo loose all your boost. About the only way to make it work is to go north of 4500 rpm.

Beans is sending me a used cam and gonna put comp 910s for springs. Do I need to run the heavier push rods with the 910s?
