Any reason to go with Valair clutch over Napa for stock replacement?
I hear lots of good things about valair and was planning on using their products for my e4od to zf5 swap. I have no plans for making big power so stock replacement is all i need. The valair kit is going to cost me about 100 bux more than a similar kit from NAPA down the street. Does anybody know what differences there are and if its worth the price difference.

Betwwen my son and myself, we have converted 5 trucks (3 strokes and 2 IDIs) from the DMF to the single mass using the NAPA conversion kits with no problems. Te only thing, is that the NAPA ones are made in china. We used thes kits because the local NAPA had the kits in stock, so we were able to get them the same day as we needed them. While I've only heard good things about the valair setup, I would not hesitate to use the NAPA one again.

Thanks for the reply, I had already ordered a Luk from rockauto. I believe it is the same as the unit at NAPA and is significantly cheaper. So i have a complete Luk kit with flywheel shipped to my door for 330, I just couldn't see paying over 200 more for the base level Valair. I hope i don't regret this decision.

Napa sold me the wrong flywheel for a clutch job we did using a Valair clutch (long story, the owner wanted to save money and have his flywheel re-surfaced but it was too worn out), and the result was a $1000 repair, out of my pocket, for us to replace it for the customer.
Valair worked with me on making it right, Napa said to F-off and it wasn't their problem. I will never buy anything from that NAPA store again, and Valair is a top-notch place to deal with and my first choice in clutches.
Best of luck to you.

Thanks for all the info guys, my parts should be here by the end of the week and I will be tearing into my zf 5 conversion shortly after. Thanks for all the help. You guys here at FTE are the best. I have learned so much lurking on here over the years. Look out for a new thread with lots of pictures once the conversion is complete.
