I'd add a small spool of stainless steel or mild steel wire, 16 ga and 24 ga. a pair of sharp poultry shears, a spray bottle of detail spray and some microfiber towels for cleaning up the truck, yourself. a 1/2 dz gallon size ziplock freezer bags. Wet one of the towels near dripping, fold,.put in a ziplock bag and throw in the top of your cooler, great for a refreshing wipe of the face, put on the back of the neck or over the eyes for a headache, on your head under your hat for overheating, sun protection.

I would apply some RainX to the windshield prior to departure. One less thing to worry about should your wipers conk out. Dittos on having a list of critical spare part #'s.

I'm heading east out of Loveland Co. to Caro Mi. Will pretty much stick to US 36, US 34, US 24 than north to Sturgis, Mi. and from there I'll just keep making my way north to Caro.
Thanks for the tips and I am bringing my camera and IPad. So should be able to post along the way.

Your truck is looking great! I drive 36 from Belleville KS to Springfield IL almost every year. It is a wonderful road! Be sure to take a tour of Marysville KS, it is a gorgeous town, great place to eat a home-cooked meal.

I don't have much more to add to the list, it sounds like you've got some great tips here. But I would just like to say good luck on your trip and it's good to see you here again, Marty. The truck's looking great!

The truck, my 51' F-1, French flathead, T-19 Trans (no overdrive), 3:50 9in rear. One of my dumber questions is do I bring the car cover?
Get ahold of rumble seat (Paul) he had a list of what he packed for his epic trips in his Roadster - I have/had it some where on my puter but I can't find it - Paul has been back on the 32-53 Flathead site since his illness

Day two and I'm in Bethany Mo. and so far the window wiper motor blew-up and I mean with a bang. Drove though two rain storms, (that Liquid Glass works great). Stopped along the way to change jets in my center stack, I'm up #45 from 42's but still pinging going up these hills. Any thoughts on the subject?

I assume you got to the jets you had on the dyno in Denver? Are they Stromberg's or Holley 94's? Stock jet on a single 94 setup was #51.

What distributor do you have? Try retarding your static timing 2 deg. Are temperatures OK?

How's the trip going? I don't live too far from Caro, and I'd like to see your truck as you cruise by. I'm in Bay City, let me know if you need anything.
