Fuel pump question

I had gas in my oil so I figured it was time to replace my fuel pump.

I took the old one off today and when comparing the old and new one I noticed the new one is smaller. I was just wondering if this was ok. I got the new one from autozone, the brand is Airtex.

Looks like it might be easier to install. I've always had to fight the tight clearance between the bolt head and the side of the pump.

Thanks Mike I didn't think about that, and yeah it was a pain getting off because I still have the a/c bracket on because the p/s pump is bolted onto it but I don't have the a/c pump.

Alright so I'm trying to install the pump, I felt inside and there's isn't a push rod but I feel something that's in front of the bottom part of the timing chain but it's got some play in it. When I put the lever in, there is a gap at the bottom where it bolts up. Do I have to force the pump down to get the lever down to get the bolts in?

Fords don't use a pushrod to drive the fuel pump, they use an eccentric that's mounted on the front of the timing gear. The top part of the fuel pump arm rides on bottom side of the eccentric.
Be sure the fuel pump arm is below the eccentric. Unless you have the high point of the eccentric pointed up, you'll have to kinda push in and up on the pump to get the bolts to start.
What you're feeling in front of the bottom part of the timing chain is probably the oil slinger. This goes on the crank between the cover and the gear to help shield the front seal from an oversupply of oil, it doesn't have anything to do with the fuel pump.
