There's two tests that you run on the coolant. One is to check for contamination or someone adding the wrong old coolant. If you've done your own servicing there's no reason to look for the nitrites? (I think). The other test is to check the coolant "strength" and to see if it needs a bottle of reconditioning liquid. I've done two dip tests and so far I haven't had to add a bottle. It's probably time now though.
Opening the passenger side petcock is a pain. Rdenis made a very cool tool to open the petcock here: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-pet*****.html
The pet***** are not normal. They are cam-type and only need to be turned 90 degrees.

I don't have any plans to install one........ I would be happy with a radiator that didn't leak

It doesn't say that the filters do anything for contaminants, which is the reason for doing a coolant test every 12k. While the Rotunda test kit is probably a necessity it is also a rip-off. You get about $5.00 worth of plastic bottles, plastic syringe and a color chart for $90.00. What a deal! When I opened the box, "Deja Vu". It reminds me of some sort of medical test kit that the hospital marks up 1000%.
