Glove box hinge springs

Can anyone confirm whether there are 1 or 2 springs for the glovebox door on 1950 F1; I sure mine only had one but the catalogues show 2 being required. The hinges don't look like the additional one in required.

Mine is a 1952, just replaced it last night, ie one. Catalog also showed 2 and it made me look harder at my truck becasue in my mind I only saw one. On my 52 there is only one.

Where did you get the spring? I've tried hardware store springs and can't find the right one.
Thanks

Welcome to the board

Wow, this is a bit of an old post, but still viable info. You won't find this spring at a hardware store. Here's a pic of the one installed in my 49.
