2000 F250 / 7.3 Powerstroke wiring validation
I've been all over the site today but haven't found anything that can help me yet. I was putting a new 7 pin/blade trailer/RV harness today and while underneath the vehicle saw that the last owner used wire nuts and a lot of electrical tape for "whatever" he was doing. Also there was lots of corrosion and bad connections so this explains why I was having intermittent electrical problems.
My question is; there appears to be three wiring harness connections underneath the bed and close to the rear bumper. The first is for the trailer/RV connection, the second is for the license plate lights and the third is for the tail lights. My problem is with the tail light connection (or what I think is for tail lights).
On one side of the connection is (from what I can make out):
orange
brown
lite green / with orange stripe
brown (maybe black) / with violet stripe
black (maybe brown)
lite green
On the connecting side I have all the same colors and they are connected to their respected connection but the lite green wire has been cut and just had a wire nut attached to it.
I have looked thru many wiring diagrams and many topics on this site but can not find anything that represents these colors, especially the light green one, and where they go to/connect to.
Can anyone out there let me know what that light green wire is for (a ground perhaps?)
Thanks in advance for the help!!!
