U-joint part number issues

Ok I have gotten three different sets of U joints from Napa and they dont fit. I just need the ones for the front driveline and the one for the rear driveline TC side. I have 78 front and rear axles and 75 TC. I dont think there is that big of a difference but I might be wrong. Can anyone help me out here.

Thanks Tim

The aftermarket listings for f series ujoints is wacked. Always has been. Every chain uses a database that originates from that incorrect info. Do you have your original joints?

I don't know if this will help you out or not, but it could be a place to start for your research. Last year when I changed my u-joints, these are the ones I used for a 77 highboy. I used the "Precision" (Federal Mogul, I think) brand joints found at Checker.

Intermediate Driveshaft - 369

Front Driveshaft - 353

Rear Driveshaft 353

U-bolt Kits - 329-10

No problem. I had my old joints so when the computer showed multiple joints he was able to take mine in the back and match up the correct ones for cap diameter and u-joint width. I saved one empty box for each and labeled them in case I needed a joint in the future. That way I would know which one it was. Hopefully you can get yours nailed down.

NWF ujoints

hey Elk,this is why some including myself are changing there yokes, like Betty turns oil Burner,1350 spicer ,front and rear axle to help narrow the choices down,of course that means more money, more strenghth in universal.

This is the database I am speaking of, in my experience, the second the customer said Ford truck, I would go for the Manufacturers guide, i.e. the book. Believe me, it helped greatly on comebacks. Just a tip, take your old joints with you. He/she needs the cap diameter , could differ on both yokes, and the cross shaft length without the caps on it.

Finally I went back down to napa and talked to someone with some more sense and got the right ones. The other guy gave me parts from a full time TC which are not even close to the right ones. Thanks for the help guys.
