Does anybody else sit on a pillow like me? lol. Seriously though, I have had some serious sagging issues with my seat. Has anybody rebuilt the springs or foam in their seats before? I found a "rebuild" kit in the LMC catalog for $35 and i was wondering if any of you had ordered it and used it. See the link below. And thank you for any tips, I am tired on sitting on a pillow.
I doubt the rebuild kit would yield the results you're interested in. What you really want is item #1 in the diagram on that page. It's not cheap, but it's just money right?

Yeah, I am not paying nearly $300 for a piece of foam. That's just outrageous.
I just put a piece of cardboard between #1 and #9.
The springs cut into the bottom of the foam and then you're sitting 2" lower.
Not perfect, but a heck of a lot better than it was.

Hmmm...I might have to look at this. I never thought of that. thanks for the advice. I thought about getting some of that seat foam in the knitting section at walmart to add a layer. Im worried it would dry rot too fast in the heat though. Im not sure.
Ok, I checked the bottom of the seat and there is already a fuzzy looking piece of something between the spring rods and the foam. There is no way the spring rods have cut into the foam. I ran my finger up above that fuzzy looking cloth stuff and found that the foam isn't cut. I think its a combination of spring sag and foam compression.
It may be possible to cut out the deteriorated foam and cut to shape new pieces and fit them in place. I think a custom furniture place would be a good place to try for the foam material, and if I recall an electric kitchen knife cuts the stuff pretty cleanly.
Thanks guys, I think I will take the seat out this week. If its spring sag I can always move some of the springs from the middle where no one sits over to my side. If its just a foam thing I will try one of these shops.
