Integrated Brake Controller

I just picked up my new F250. One of the things that I had wanted but the truck was not equipped was the brake controller. I was told that they could install one as an accessory no problem. When I picked up the truck, I was told that although you could do it on a F150, it could not be done on the F250. So no brake controller. Can someone tell me if this was true. Can I go to a Ford dealer and buy the controller and install it myself? Is the plug behind the dash where the controller would be and also would there be any other fuses or relays that would have to be installed and would it connect with the trucks information center without a problem. I would really rather have the built in controller than a aftermarket one. Thanks in advance.

05+ can do the ITBC, plug-n-play with a PCM re-program.

Yes, it can be added. 2005-2010 (If I recall correctly) need the ITBC controller, ITBC master cylinder and the PCM reprogram. The 2011+ trucks do not need the new master cylinder.

I just installed my Tekonsha Voyager in my 2012 F250. Ford was kind enough to put the pigtail I needed in the glovebox and all I had to do was connect it to my controller and plug it in.

Yes, I have that pig tail in my glove box. I just wanted the built in controller because it is a lot neater and works through your information center to tell you if you what your output is, your gain and if you have connection problems or trailer problems.
