Talking Diesel Fuel Quality

I was wondering is all diesel fuel the same? I try to always buy from Shell but at times I stop at discount places like speedway, Kroger Fuel etc. Does anyone have a opinion on their diesel fuel?
Should I always add some type of fuel modifier like Lucas,HotShot? This would be fuel for street use only.

It's mostly all crap here. Always use high volume stations. I add something for lubricity and cetane boost every time I fill up my truck. Don't recommend Lucas. What year is your truck?

Any station that has a lot of diesel customers is a good place. I have a speedway off of 2 highways and off an interstate that always have 2-5 diesel trucks fueling up. I recommend a Cretane booster as well. I like DieselKleen. All we use in my Dads DMax

I fill up at the local co-op. They run premiun diesel. On the road I usually use pilot/flying J.

I try to stay away from loves.

I always fill up at shell, however my local shell doesn't have diesel. So I use the local mobil which is right off the highway and gets used like a vegas hooker.

I always fill up at Mobil, or a citgo that has high flow diesel nozzles that always has trucks there. I just go on a local diesel forum and people seem to fill up at the same places

Really any of the BIG known brand names are good. The volume that they
pump is the real key. The station in the small town that maybe gets one
guy getting diesel a day is not the one I would pick. You can get a lot of condensation
in the tanks and IF there tanks are above ground it worse.
Using an additive is also a good help. I personally like the Motorcraft PM22a in the
non-winter months and have not had any problems. Milage seems to be good and I
don't have a nasty EGR valve when I clean it. BTW I have a 6.0L.
