While on vacation came upon a pump at Shell that sold Diesel and Premium Diesel. What's the difference? Today at Meijer's they state they sell premium diesel also.
A person I know states to watch out where you buy your fuel. He stated that you want to get fuel where they turn over fuel often. This makes sense. He also stated to me that algae can grow in diesel fuel tanks if they don't get used much. Is this true?
This is true. If you look at Marine (boat not jarhead) catalogs, you will see diesel fuel additive that is a biocide. Diesel if left long enough will grow stuff. But, I would worry more about water and contaminants. I would buy my diesel at busy stations or truck stops.
