adventures in door pin removal

(this is copied from my project page)

ok i ended up buying the hinge pin removal tool from Classic Haulers. I then read on here about how mixed reviews of how well it worked.
I gave it a shot anyhow. I figured out that if you heat the hinge up real good on both top and bottom, then use the hinge pin puller it worked better.

I put good amount of pressure on the pin using the puller, then wacked straight up on the end of the bolt of the puller the pin moved and could be removed.
top hinge was way harder to do had to cut the head off and wack it down a bit then could force it upwards.
so with out any more of me blabbing here are pics

and i found out why my door wouldnt close. hopefully all the bent up part is in the door.

That is one of the best tools I have ever bought. On the second use, with a little patience...I have given it to several friends for use and received parts aplenty in return! nuff said

I used one and the shaft 'exploded' when I was tightening it down - sounded like a .45 bullet went off!!!!

I had good luck with mine, if I started with the shortest shaft that came with it, then workd up to the longest, soaked with oil for a week first. I guess some pins are darn near impossible nomatter what is done, from what Ive herd.

The top pin was a bear to remove. I had to cut the top off if heat it again then wack it down then push it up. I was afraid it wasn't gonna budge but it finally moved.
