Here's my Chevy column to AOD tranny linkage.

Here is how I ended up attaching my 1991 Chev Blazer steering column up to the 1991 T Bird AOD
Tranny I want to use. First off I have to say I don't like working with levers and geometry angles
and stuff. Hurts my head. I really wanted a cable system but for whatever reason Lokar does not
make a cable for my application. Therefor I come up with this hybrid system that uses the original
AOD shift cable as well as some Chevy linkage and a lever for lack of a better definition.

Whoa, not sure what happened there with the pic. I put a small write up in my gallery for anyone else who is dealing with this problem. It shifts smooth and easily through all of the gears. Here's how I secured the cable so it would pull the AOD shift linkage through the gears.

And heres what I used

That looks like an excellent piece of engineering. Very nice. My only thought or concern would be if there's enough flex if, by chance, the cab and frame flex differently so as to not cause a problem with pushing or pulling on the trans lever unwantedly. I'm guessing everything is close enough and having the cable portion it should be fine, but just something that popped into my mind and thought I'd share. Something to check on before its too late.

You know, I never considered that. I loosened the rod adjuster to give it some play there. Still shifts through all the gears with ease. The frame will be boxed from front to back so that should get rid of any flex there. All that might move is the cab and from what I can see it shouldn't have much movement on the front end. It looks like the rear of the cab was designed to move the most. Hopefully someone can confirm this for me. If it doesn't work well its only steel, and steel is made to cut apart and weld back together again. I'm still crossing my fingers and praying to the Luck God. Say could someone just check out my gallery and see if you can see the writeups. I'm just curios. Thanks.

Great stuff, I am a goober for mixing and matching factory stuff as a low buck alternative to high dollar kits. Looks like a winner to me. Good decision on boxing that frame front to rear, you won't regret it and your linkage should be just fine. Thumbs up!
