Best tuner?

I am going to buy a tuner chip for my truck soon. What is the best for our trucks? Clay at Riff Raff uses DP tuner on 99% of trucks with good results. I know there are many tuners out there, just not sure which one is best. I like the DP tuner as I can custom tune to what I want.

Give this a read:

Good info there on chips. All of the tuners mentioned there have some following here at FTE. I've been doing a lot of research as I'll be looking into a chip in the next few months and everyones advice is to call the tuners that interest you talk to them in person. Go with the one you like the most.

Probably going to get lots of different opinions but if you go with one that is reputable and has a following you will likely be happy. I bought my truck with an Edge programmer in it and will take it out and likely go with the DP also. I like the new infinity because then I don't have to buy all the gauges (although I really like the way the gauges look on the pillar). Seems like a better deal though to just put the two together. I'm not sure you will ever get an answer to a "which is best" question because the good ones all do their homework and make a good product. At that point it is more about what you like, want, and how you use the truck.

Let me know if you have questions about any of our products. I would be happy to help you out.

Custom tunes are a huge jump up from canned tunes. Jody(our tuner) has been tuning these trucks for over a decade now, and knows tuning inside and out. He also does live tuning events throughout the year if you are ever interested in that. He drives around with you and adjusts your tunes on the fly to your liking. This happens all over the country to make it more convenient as well.

I run a TPS programmer that works really well, I have done a lot of research and also used a bully dog programmer which ruined my torque converter. the TPS is a banks company and gives 140 hp and 200 FT to the rear wheels and can be programmed to what you want. I love it. I now get 23 to 25 MPG on the highway so it payed for itself.

Which aftermarket injectors are you running? How did you calculate 25 mpg?

Was that hand calculated filling up to the exact same spot? It is just hard to believe because I have never seen a 4x4 OBS 7.3L get 25mpg. If you really did, then that is truly impressive.

With out aftermarket injectors you won't get 140hp. The stock injectors can only produce a max of 60 extra hp.

I had a single cab F250 2wd and the best I've every saw was 21mpg and that was with 3.55 gears.

If you are running stock sticks, then you are not getting an actual 140 HP and 200FT/LBS to the wheels. The setting may be 140 HP on the chip, but your stock 90 CC injectors can only flow so much fuel....in reality, your getting maybe 70 Hp at the MAX. Sorry to burst your bubble. It will change the fueling pattern and such but your not getting an extra 140 out of it.

if you go with the F-6 chip from DP, you can test tunes for a day or two (i forget the actual time) to see if you like them or not before you pay for them.
no one else offers this option.
