1986 F150 neutral safety switch wiring diagram

I have a 1986 351W and C6 sitting in my 55 F100. Installing new wiring harness and looking to wire the NSS. Does anyone happen to have a wiring diagram of that switch? I think the switch doubles as the NSS and back up lights is that correct?

thanks

Yes it does NSS and rev lights. The two red and blue wires are for the NSS, the other 2 are for rev lights.

Not all trucks have the NSS is combined with B/U light switch. Those that do, the switch is half moon shaped and mounted to the drivers side of the C6 and has 4 wires. Others like me have a plunger type NSS in the steering column, and the B/U light only mounted to the side of the Trans. Looks just like the combo switch but only has 2 wires.

Assuming a 4-wire switch at the transmission:

Red/blue-stripe wires are for the NSS portion, the switch interrupts the circuit to the starter solenoid trigger.

The other wires (black & pink? I forget) are for the rear backup lights.

ctubutis You are correct on the color coding for both and just made my day after giving up on the reverse light combo today as i had 5 wires opposite of those to contend with and decided to check here as well. I needed to remove the entire NSS to rewire for a B & M Hammer and it cannot stay on the tranny and needed to wire reverse/NSS direct to shifter switches, also Please note that this combo continues true through 1999 my year truck, not sure how much later though. Thanks again
