A/C-Heat Blower

A/C-Heat Blower
Hey all.
Having a problem with my wife's '08 Expedition. The battery died a few weeks ago and since then, if you touch the fan settings there's no way to turn them back off.
We also had an issue with the air suspension defaulting to "off," but fixed that. We have reset the truck by d/c'ing the battery, but to no avail. So what happens is:
-Turn Expie on
-Hit the "Off" button on the AC control
-Fan blasts on high until custom settings are entered (A/C or heat gets turned on, etc). Hit "Off" again.
-Turn truck off
-Turn truck back on. When you turn it back on, if you hit "off" before shutting it off, it leaves the fan off. There is no fan activity at all until you try to engage the A/C, vent, or heat.
Once the fan is on, the only way to turn it off is to restart the truck.
Any ideas? I've searched and found a few threads but they all seem to be slightly different issues.
