Advice on buying a 2001 f150

I'm looking at a 2001 crew cab 4 wheel drive f150 with the 5.4 the only issue I have about this truck is the miles the truck in and out is immaculate and it has a bit of a lift but the miles are 230k and the truck price is 4k and I'm just curious if it's worth buying as a daily driver and if it will be worth the money as I don't have much money to rebuild the motor if anything happens any advice would be appreciated

These 5.4's are pretty tough.
I wouldn't let the mileage deter you.
See or ask when plugs were last changed etc, tuned up etc.

I personally would pass on buying a vehicle with that many miles, especially for 4k and with plans to use it as a DD.

I know I would end up spending another 2-5k just to get everything replaced that is bad or could potentially cause issue, so I could actually look for trucks in the 6-9k range that have most of the stuff taken care of.

I'd have to pass on that one too. There are a lot of nice ones out there with 1/2 the miles in that price range. As stated above, I'd rather spend a couple thousand more to get a lower mile truck than get a high mile truck and invest a couple thousand into it.

Dont forget, its a CREW. Mine has 240k miles and i drive it 20 miles to work and 20 miles back every day. No way i would sell it for $4000. Of course i take care of it and no real ongoing problems. Talk to the guy and look at truck. Has he taken care of it, or run it into the ground ?

I have learned to never pre-judge a vehicle 'til I've seen it in person. Some people do a poor job of accurately describing its true condition. Often, a poor ad or description can hide a great truck. If you are interested, I would at least take a look at it, especially if it is a private sale.
