Backflush and IPR coolant filter... Can I save it?
I have just noticed that my EOT/ECT difference is hovering around 12-15* It is a 2006 with 165,000 miles. ECT is 188-190 and EOT gets to 205 at 65 mph. I want to do a flush and try to back flush the oil cooler. I am thinking of buying the IPR coolant filter to see if that can keep things clean enough to run for a while without replacing the oil cooler. Here are my questions for y'all:
Do you think I will just waste my time and coolant if I don't bite the bullet and replace the oil cooler?
Also, does anyone have much experience with the IPR coolant filter? Is it $100 better than a dieselite coolant filter? Is the IPR manifold extension worth another $70? This thread makes it look pretty impresive:

Thanks for any experience or opinions you can share!

It cant hurt to try. I had a new one plug up in 500 miles. The temp spread was 25* and luckily, by back flushing, it came back to 6*. Its been good for 3 years now. You can also try some vc9. Its spendy but works good. It never hurts to try. If it works youll save yourself a load of work.
