Electrical Issues/Regen

Here is what happened with this issue.Brought the truck home and found a shop to trouble shoot. At this point, the ignition stayed on when you turned the key off,the running lights stayed on.The computer showed a fault with the trailer wiring,no trailer connected, the check engine light was on,as well as electrical light.
Pulled fuses and checked connections.Thought that perhaps a relay was faulty,so pulled and checked. When you pulled no 6 fuse 30 amp on the box on the fender everything shut off.Suspected that corrosion might have gotten to the wiring under the fusebox.Brought to dealer,in the sault,on the way, went into low power mode, regen issue.
Good job,by the dealer.Wiring, main harness, had rubbed on the shock tower. They pulled the fender, fixed it.As well replaced blown fuses, and cleared codes and did manual regen.Ongoing issue.Hope this helps.

Welcome to FTE.

How about telling us more about the truck....year, engine, etc. so it may help some folks out.

This is a 2008/f250/6.4/four wheel drive, that i bought used with 189.000km on it.It now has 209.000km on it.Had a few issues with the regen, and its still ongoing. As well ,still have issues with the electrical, after the wiring harness rubbed through.Aside from that, its been good to me.Hope this helps.

Great and thanks for the info.

I'm going to move this thread to the 6.4L Powerstroke Diesel forum where the folks down there will probably benefit more from it.

Not a problem at all.

And there's nothing wrong with posting it in the Super Duty forum. I just thought it would get more traffic down here.

Regens are an animal all by itself. What would help is if you get something to monitor your regen cycle so you know when it starts and completes.

Part of the problem with the current message that is displayed is you don't know about half the time that you are in regen so you shut it down.

then it starts up and and you drive just a bit and it starts. Then you shut it down and it just repeats till you get the drive to clean message that will keep it displayed.

scanguage II is a low cost method that you can hook to the OBD port so you can monitor that.

Have had the dealer do two manual regens. Both times the truck went into low power mode. The gauge on the left of the water temp, used to run at around the same temp as the water, its been running cooler. This is when the regen problems started.
