new mirror question

Hey guys I have a stupid question but im looking to swap out my tow mirrors to the tow mirrors that are heated and have the signal. I only have a few questions regarding this topic. Does anyone know the colors of the wires for the left hand signal and right hand signal and the parking lamps? and if i do install the mirrors and flip the turn signal on either way will the oem signals flash with the new mirrors or will they alternate?

Thank you,
-AJ

I wired mine through a rear defroster switch from a 94 Explorer. Those switches have a timer built into the back of them so mine turn off after 10 minutes. And it gives me a lighted switch that has the defrost symbol on it which just happens to look like a mirror with the heat waves on it.
I am sure the timer/switch was also used in other years....That just happened to be from a 94. I think they used those up through 97.

Here is the switch mounted...and some of the back side....
The bezel on the switch isn't faded like it looks in the pic...must of been the lighting.

The switch had the plug with a pigtail so I soldered the connections and ran the wires along a factory loom to keep it a OEM looking as posible. (OEM Switch from a buddy who had it from the actual vehicle)
I just did a buddies truck the same as mine. He ordered an aftermarket switch from LMC trucks (I think) and it came with the spade connectors. either way it worked fine.

If you go this route, let me know. I do have the wiring layout for the switch

I did this mod this weekend. One T/S was white with a blue tracer. The other was white with a green tracer I believe. The running light was supposed to be brown but I couldn't find it so I tapped in behind the light switch. Great mod! I love mine. I wired the defroster to a 3/4" round toggle switch that I mounted in the black trim above the door panel. I don't expect to use it much here in SC.

Good luck.

Ryan
