An idiot and his Raptor are soon parted...or should be parted for the good of the Raptor.

I think the problem with a vehicle like a Raptor is that almost nobody *needs* one. Same as a Corvette. If you "wear" either of these to the mall, you'll be fine, but if you are inspired to push its performance to the max (or beyond), you end up with this kind of stuff happening in the Raptor, and either speeding tix or horrific accidents at 150 mph in the Corvette...

Seriously, how many desert racers are there who buy Raptors and use them for what they are really aimed toward?

At least the Raptor is strong and safe enough to prevent what might otherwise be "Darwin award" winners.

Try finding a decent used Raptor in 5 years - gonna be hard as more and more get into the hands of douches like this guy.

Good point, don't think I would chance buying a used raptor.

I think that it would be pretty easy to tell how well one had been treated by examining it closely, putting it on a hoist, etc. And run a Carfax, etc. I recall that people were bending Raptor frames by jumping them--so checking the cab/bed gaps closely for uniformity would be a good telltale.

I have bought many used muscle and performance cars in my life, and buying from a mature adult owner was always the way to go. I imagine that many of these are used to drive to work and to the mall, and maybe go offroad when parking on a field of grass at outdoor events. Most owners buy them to "wear", not to go desert racing.

Best part of the video is listening to the crowd roar (loudest cheers at apex of jump) go compete silent. Did this nimrods actually think this could be pulled off?

I love that instant privacy curtain so you can't see the passenger trying to swallow his liver back down!

You know the guy feels really stupid until everyone starts cheering, it ALMOST makes it worth it, until he steps out of the truck and realizes its done for

This is why we can't have nice things. Because morons like this have to keep breaking them. I doubt that even the Ram Runner would be able to survive this abuse.

Factory built Mall Crawlers.
