Death wobble and steering stabilizers.

Death wobble and steering stabilizers.
Hey guys,
I'm getting a bit of death wobble on my 94 with a Dana 60 and shackle reversal. It happens at slow speeds when I hit a bump on the passenger side. I've been doing some reading, and I am going to try the washers under the king pin cap, along with a steering stabilizer. I don't have a stabilizer at all now, so I will need an entire aftermarket kit. Does anyone know of a decent kit? The front axle has been entirely rebuilt, but I am not sure about the steering box, so I'll probably check it out real well, or just replace it while I am in there.
Thanks,
Mac.

That's a big N-O on the track bar, and no longer an option since the PO cut off the axle bracket to flip the u-bolts for more ground clearance. By most accounts though it is not necessary with the shackle reversal. The early model F-series with rear mount shackles didn't even have one. My DW isn't very bad. It has only happened three times in the 6 plus months since I installed the axle. I think my plan of attack will be; replace the spring bushings, check out the steering box, shim the king pin caps with washers, and install a steering stabilizer. I like the look of the stabilizer anyways! I just need to find a stabilizer kit. I will check out what Napa has to offer, Thanks Harry.

I had death wobble that was caused by a worn/collapsed brake caliper pin. Wobble would start when making long gentle turns on a curved road. Loose caliper pin allowed brake caliper to begin chattering resulting in death wobble. Problem kept getting worse until I had a particularly violent and terrifying wobble event out on a paved forest road. I was able to figure out the source of the problem and red-neck-ed it with a thick zip tie shim. Five years later the zip tie is still in there, and no more death wobble. I know most cases of death wobble are caused by other things, but if you are in there shimming and bracing up your D60, it might not hurt to pop in a new set of caliper pins while you are at it... just sayin'...
