Same direction means limited slip. On another note, you can just use some 80-90 "GL5" which has friction modifier in it. Either way just use that type of oil
either way some limited slip additive wont hurt, its better for metal-on-metal action anyway. somethin like castrol 80-90 hypoid i believe is LS compatible anywho so just use that(read the bottle and be sure tho)
I can't say on australlian trucks, but the ones here have a LS on the tag on the diff. If the tag is gone then this is irrevelent
If the AXLE code stamped on the Rating Plate (1959/60), Warranty Plate (1961/80), 1981 to date: Printed on the Certification Label begins with a letter: Limited Slip.
This is a valuable piece of info, thanks ND. I found a few rear 9" and 60s in a scrap yard, some from late 70s fords some I don't know from what the older ones had a different tag and no room for a LS designation, but I found 3 verified LS rears and all had LS on the axle tag. Then I went and looked in my 79 ford service manual and it did say that limited slip axles do have a LS on the axle tag. Thanks that will help me in my everoing limited slip search.
