Heater Tube coming out of top of Intake Manifold

1990, 5.8L. What is this tube called. Mine is a bit corroded and I was going to replace it.

Can't seem to identify it by name. It comes out of the top of the intake manifold, goes over the alternator area, and the heater hose hooks up to it. It must be about 6" to 8 " long or so.

Anybody know?

The only metal tube I can think of is the EGR tube. Can you post a picture of it?

well...it's under a bunch of stuff....

I'll see if I can find a 5.8L picture on the internet and show that....

this is a coolant tube that come up immediately to the passenger side of the distributor and has a sensor attached to it..it makes a 90° and heads over the passenger side where the heater hose attaches to it.

found a picture E8TZ-18B402-C

Well...I can't seem to add a pic, but I found an image in google and here is that link. I should have looked in images first.

Looks like that big tube can separate from the main body....going to have look into that. What I need is to replace that tube that runs off to the left...

I even found a part number. E8TZ-18B402-C

Water Pump By-Pass 3-Way Tee (HEX shape) pic & Ford part number; for coolant outlet on lower intake manifold (has the port for the ECT sensor and tubes for the heater core and TB is E8TZ-18B402-C TUBE ASY-HTR WATER

Fixed your pic here:

Unfortunately the only thing I can think of is, it feeds hot water from the intake mani to the heater hose to heat the cabin faster..

Thanks for the picture fix...

I thought it was all 1 piece.

Looks like that fat pipe can be separated from the vertical hex part. That fat pipe is what really needs replacing on mine.

It just a connection to the heater hose. That coolant temperature sensor on the vertical part is for the computer.
