I'm working on my 60's cab and will be replacing a lot of sheet metal. One area I will be rebuilding is the driver-side front cab corner. What kind of prep should I do in those inside areas that will be boxed in? Whatever I use will be applied before the final piece is welded in, so is weld-thru primer my only option, or am I going about it the wrong way?
SEM make a rust protection spray with a wand attachment that sprays a 360 spray of product. If its completely boxed you would have to drill a small 1/4" hole to fit the wand in and spray but it could easily be filled with a plastic plug when you're done.
Eastwood makes some sprays that come with a long plastic tube with a 360 degree spray nozzle on the end. Drill a hole, stuff it in and spray while you pull it out. Make sure you clean the tube and nozzle promptly. PS, it does make a mess.
