I have some pitted areas on the edge of cab roof. This would be very difficult to weld because of headliner, etc. I know that this would probably be best but is fiberglass, bondo, or some other method okay? It doesn't have to look perfect just become watertight and not rust any further.
If it is rusted through, you would be better off welding up the holes, if it's only pitted then you can use body filler. If the pits are not so deep, then some high build 2k primer might be all you need.
If you do have holes and decide to 'bondo' you are going to need to pull the headliner and prep the inside anyway. Be sure to get rid of the rust and treat the clean metal with an etching primer or other rust inhibitor primer and use a good waterproof filler.
