F 250 Super Duty Lift removal

I purchased a used 2004 F 250 2 years ago, that has a substantial lift kit installed. I'd like to return the truck to stock height and wheels. Anyone have experience with a task like this? What can I expect to get charged?
thanks

Me and my father, who is a certified ASE technician, have never removed a lift. We have however, installed one on my 1999 F250. I dont know how big of a lift is on your truck, but my lift is a 6in skyjacker lift. All we had to drastically change was the steering linkage and traction arm. Obviously, you are gonna need new leafs, shocks, and probably ubolts and rear blocks as well. Other than that, everything should fall back into place. You will need also need to use your old steering pitman arm (once again, depending on the size of the lift). I never had to mess with my brake lines at all because the stock length was enough for 6 more inches.

Other than that, i cannot think of much else, hope this helps!
If you have any questions, i practically have a scrapbook of pictures of every step we did to get it right. Let me know if you wanna see any.

Return track bar to original geometry (usually has a longer/adjustable bar, or drop bracket), return pitman arm to original design, new shorter shocks, original leaf springs, shorter rear blocks most likely (f250=2", f350=4", but it doesnt matter which you pick). new u bolts all around. shorter sway bar links in the front, tires that fit... about all i can think of now. my friend went from a 6" kit to just a leveled F350 by trading suspensions with someone. they did it over a weekend

One thing I did not see any one say is.
You can sell the lift parts to help offset
the cost of the replacement parts.
Or better yet find some one that will trade you the
parts for the lift your removing.

Yep. If it's a 4" lift and you live close, we could absolutely work something out. But with my luck you likely live at the far end of Florida...

I am up in Washington and already have all the lift I want. I
would willing to bet you can find someone that will trade you.
Any more lift and 5th wheel will start to be a problem.

I too am in washington. Id always be willing to trade my stock 04 F250 SD parts for the lift parts depending on how high the lift is... Thinking by him saying substantial it probably means 6" or more.

The only lift I have is a leveling kit and a 5" block in the back.
Stock for the F350 is 4" and I removed the 5" because they got me
the wrong blocks. I need the non-tapered ones and they sold me a set
of tapered blocks. Talk about vibrations. Pinion was so far off that
I could not pull out with out a good bit of vibration. So here I sit with a
set of 5" tapered blocks in a box on a shelf. They said I could ship them back
for a credit or replacement. Not sure what to do with them. Just more $ out the
door even if they exchange the set I still have shipping costs.

Thats what I was going to do. I was gonna throw a leveling kit on the front and a 4" block in the rear to replace my 2" stock block.

As soon as I get my wrong set replaces I will have a
set of Ford 4" non-taper blocks.

If it's a 6-8" leaf spring lift kit I might be interested in a trade. I have an '04 F350 4x4 with stock suspension.

What is the advantages to using the tapered vs non-tapered. Isnt the stock blocks non-tapered?

The stock in my 06 are the non-tapered. It has to do with the pinion angle

Have a look here.
