I have a gooseneck style setup under my truck bed, i need a 5th wheel hitch to tow with. Will the B&W Companion work with this or do I need the whole B&W kit? I have a 99 F250 short bed, so do I need a slider? Thanks

 

If you have the B&W gooseneck hitch under the bed, then yes, the companion hitch will work. If it's not the B&W gooseneck, I would first find out what brand the hitch is, then see if there are any 5th wheel conversions for that brand.

 

Not sure what brand it is, it only has a sticker on it from the place that installed, Trucks Unique in New Mexico. I may have to give them a call and see what brand it may be.

 

since you have a short bed a slider is also recommended or you put your cab at risk.

This is just my opinion but the only hitch I would buy right now is a USA Made B&W, if I but a new truck this year (still looking) I will get the for 5th prep from Ford and buy a B&W hitch not the non US made Reese hitch Ford is offering.
