Cab lights

My 66 has no interior lighting.

Here is what I have found:

There is a single wire in the headliner above the driver door. Im guessing that is for a dome light. I dont know where the light goes or what it looks like. There are no switches or holes for switches that I can find in the door jamb. Was the dome light manually turned on and off?

There is a light switch in the glove box frame but no light. Does a light go there?

There is a non-functioning light bolted to the passenger kickpanel up under the dash, it has a switch but looks like it was added by a PO.

So what should I have for interior lighting?

this sounds like a post for NumberDummy, but-

afaik, the dome light would be turned on manually, by turning the light switch **** (i think) all the way to the left.

the switch in the glove box is probably the hazards.

The hazards on on the dash under the cluster. The switch in the glove box is like a door switch, open and its on/closed and its off.

nice- wish my truck had that setup. there's gotta be a bulb holder in the glovebox somewhere, then.

1964/66 Dome Lamp Body & Socket

Courtesy lamps, located at the far ends under the dash were an option. There will be door jamb switches, that when the doors are opened, the lamps come on. I have only seen two trucks with these lamps.

Another option or dealer installed accessory was a map lamp mounted under the center of the dash. A toggle switch operated it. These are more commonly found in 1960/61 Ford station wagons.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1964/66 (1961/63 is different): Dome lamp located on headliner, rear center. The lens/bezel (C4TZ-13783-A) reproduced. All these trucks came w/a dome lamp.

Cardboard headliners (perforated on Custom Cabs): There are 4 sections, R/L at the cab corners, main section and a 4th section where the dome lamp is located.

This section uses clips to attach it to the main section. Headliners fell apart, clips went bye bye, peeps either tore the remains out, or stuck something else in there.

Dome lamp lens/bezel (one piece), dome lamp body & socket went bye bye in the process.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C4TZ-13786-A .. Dome Lamp Body & Socket Assy / Obsolete ~ AFAIK not reproduced, not listed in DC's catalog.

Applications: 1964/66 F100/1100 / 1964/69 N/NT/T500/1000 / 1967/69 F800/1000.

WESLEY OBSOLETE PARTS in Liberty KY has 12 = 606-787-5293.

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 56 = 800-543-4959.

9 additional available from 9 other sources. With 68 available from 2 sources, I'm not listing the other 9.

Was there a glove box light or was the switch added by a PO?

There is no light there now, but there is a small rectangle cut out of the side of the glove box that looks like it was for a light.

As someone said it is turned on by headlight switch. It is mounted in the headliner above rear window. All trucks would have come with the dome light in 65-66

I have seen many NOS ones pop up on ebay and also avail from Dennis Carpenter etc

Glove box light not listed for F100/350's until 1973, but cars have had a glove box light since the 1950's. PO could have added it from a car.

Boss: DC has the lens/bezel, but the body & socket is not listed. I listed 68 NOS in post 5.
