Finished fabbing my box!

Finally got the metal work finished on my box. Now it just needs some body work and paint. Easier to type that last sentence that do the actual work! For those considering building their own box, go for it.

Looks good! Did you have a shop do the break for the top angled section?

Thanks, had a local fab shop bend up the 16gge sides and front panel for $200. Used repo stake pockets and rear crossmember for a '48 from LMC. Made my own inner frame since it sits on a S10 chassis, mahogany will be used for the bed floor to match my leather interior. Total box with swap meet tailgate $750.

Brian,

Nicely done!! That really looks good! I applaud your ingenuity and I really like the way you stayed with the older rounded style stake pockets.

Hey Brian,
Your bed looks great! That must have been a ton of work?
What did you use for the Bed Floor? Metal?

I'm sitting here trying to figure out how/where to put some tie downs in
our 1950 so we can haul stuff easier. We sprayed our inner bed with a bedliner product - keeps it looking good.

Good luck over there!

Thanks, yes it was alot of work but I have more time than money and money saved there I can use else where. I'm using Mahogany for the floor, the only thing I plan to haul is a lawn chair and cooler. If you have a wood floor you can get the tie downs that are sunk into the bedwood and are flush when not in use.

Here you go Brian. this is what it looked like once I got it off the truck. It is now double walled on the insides and we had to rebuild the front stake pockets because someone had cut them off.
