Transmission problem

Need some advice.... here is the problem.

I recently replaced the ignition module and nuetral safety switch on my 88 ford bronco full size 5.8 with a C6. The neutral safety switch for this truck is the hard to find 8-pin for the electric transmission. I have manual hubs

When i replaced the ignition module I got the distributor out of whack and had to reset TDC and install. The truck runs now but the shift indicator bar on the steering column is out of alignment. I also noticed that the 4-wheel drive light does not come on in 2 high or 4 high but it works in 4 low. I also hear some grinding when I try to put the truck in park while the engine is running.

I did manually turn the crank to align the distributor but can't see how that would effect the transmission or transfer case. The problem must be in the nuetral safety switch but I put it back together per the manual.... Can anyone help me out here? Thanks in advance

The indicator bar is set by adjusting a **** with string after you remove the shroud around the column. It is purely cosmetic and will not affect actual trans operation. However as you noted, your Nuetral safety switch may be out of whack. Does it start normally? Check your reverse lights, I put my truck in reveres with with key in run (not started) and adjust until the lights come on.
