neutral saftey switch

ok,so,where is the NSS on this 81 f150 w/C6 and 5.8? Also .....Is it what makes the reverse lights work? It must have went out some time ago in the trucks life because somebody wired a toggle to the lights and i want them to work like they should.

thanks for all the help in this forum. It really has helped with this farm truck.

I have 1981 F250 4WD; 351M/C6. The switch on the C6 is a backup lights only; just 2 wires which short together to turn on BU lights. I can disconnect it and I still can only start in P or N. So I expect in at least my case; the NSS is somewhere else, possibly part of the ignition switch assembly on top of steering column. This is not the case with my 1979 (302/C4) which has four wires to switch on a C4 and controls BU lights and is also the NSS. The plastic switch housings on both vehicles look identical but differ in number of wires and function.
