1955 / 56 Fan Bower Motor

I'm planning on going back with the original heater stuff in my truck, I need to find a 12 volt blower motor that will work in the stock heater box. I can find the new ones online for about 160 bucks (ouch) @ Mid 50's etc. are there any other places to look or are there any newer models that will interchange? I found one @ Parts Geek but can't figure out if it's 6 or 12 volt. I have a message into them asking the question. Looks like to me that up to a 59 may use the same motor.

Thanks

If your heater is a recirculating type, Look for a Factory Air / 4 Seasons part #35482. I purchased one in July online from Advance Auto Parts. It was $61.09 delivered. I just tried to look it up on there website. No longer listed. Try calling a store. The online price included 20% discount. Good luck.

Go to Oreilly's and ask to see/compare a blower motor for a 1970-77 Ford Maverick. I think they run about $20 bucks

I bought a 12v motor from National Auto Parts for about $30 or so, that fit just fine. I just matched up one from a Siemens automotive catalog they had there. The motor was in stock.

That ole 48-56 FTE forum is alright aint it?. Next time you drink a orange or grape soda do a small toast to ole DW in TN. Just kidding. Keep us posted. I have had one in my 55 for three years no problem. Price and access to replacement isnt bad either. Might be coming to TX in December looking for a 56' driver door.

I know a guys in Oklahoma that has lots of 53-56 parts including lots of doors. Let me know if your interested in the door and I can hook the two of you up. I was just out at his place this past Saturday for my heater box because stupid me, I threw my original box away because I was going with a Vintage Air but decided to go back original for now.

Also I want to become a supporter of this site however I'm not sure how to go about it.

That receipt is long gone......It was something like 4 or 5 years ago. I just picked it out their catalog after noting at the shaft length and diameter and comparing it to the old motor.

There are two different 1970/77 Maverick/Comet blower motors. With or without A/C makes a difference.

DGM, Is the gentleman you're talking about in Marietta? How solid is his stuff? I am a supporter and to be honest Im not sure how to access the link. I get a remainder when it is due yearly. It is worth the $20 bucks to me for the info and friendship you get here on the forum. Let me know about the parts there in OK. I mapquested Marietta it is about 700 from me.

Donald, I apologies, I did not see your request. The person I was referringto is in Marietta and yes he does have some good stuff. If you search on craigslist you can find his posting and I think he number was listed. If not let meknow and I can get the number for you. Again sorry I didn’t see your request. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
